Born
on 1st September, 1941. Did M.A. (Economics) in the year 1964 and LL.B. in
the year 1967 from Punjab University. Enrolled herself as an Advocate on
16th September, 1970. She was appointed standing councel for Central
Government from 1st August, 1977 to 15th November, 1980. Appointed as an
Additional Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court on 25.06.1990 and
permanent Judge on 23.03.1992. Attended the World Women Judges
Conference in the year 1995 at Atlanta and presented/read a paper on
Domestic Violence. Performed duties as Acting Chief Justice during the
absence on leave of Hon'ble the Chief justice from 17.06.1996 to
28.06.1996, 02.08.1996 to 11.08.1996, 19.08.1996 to 30.08.1996, 06.01.1997
to 10.01.1997, 25.09.1997 to 06.11.1997, 08.12.1997 to 12.12.1997,
02.04.1998 to 06.04.1998, 22.04.1998 to 30.06.1998, 17.08.1998 to
28.08.1998. Performed the duties of Acting Chief Justice from 29.01.2000
to 04.05.2000 and from 31.12.2001 to 24.01.2002. Retired on 30.08.2003
