Born on November 10,1943. Obtained B.A.(Hons.) degree in Economics & Political Science from Junagarh in 1964 and passed L.L.B. from Jamnagar in 1967. His Lordship took L.L.M. degree in Constitutional Law, Administrative Law & Jurisprudence from Gujrat University in 1970. His Lordship was enrolled as an Advocate in 1968 and soon thereafter started practising in Gujrat High Court.He rendered services as Assistant Government Pleader and Additional Public Prosecutor from 1975 to 1982. He was a part time Lecturer in Law in L.A. Shah College, Ahembadabad for about 20 years. He has also written books "Lectures on Administrative Law" and "Civil Procedure" which has been appreciated in India as well as U.S.A. He also revised V.G.Ramachandran's monumental work "Law of Writs"(1990).He was Secretary of Gujrat High Court Advocates Association in 1982. Appointed Judge in the Gujrat High Court on 21.6.1990. Transferred as Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court on 05.05.2000. Transferred to Bombay high court on  31.12.2001.  Due to retire on 10.11.2005.
