Born on 28.03.1944. He
joined the legal profession and practised in the Himachal Pradesh High
Court and Supreme Court since 1968. He practised on Constitutional
Service, Taxation, Company, Criminal, Civil and Revenue Law side. He was
Chairman of the Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh for the Second term. He
was Legal Advisor of the Himachal Pradesh University, H.P. Agriculture
University, Dr. Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry and
Member of Board of Studies in Law, H.P. University and Examiner in Law. He
was also a Member of Himachal Pradesh University Court. Appointed as
permanent Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court from 16.12.1988.
Transferred to Jammu & Kashmir High Court on 22.03.1996. Appointed as
Chief Justice of that High Court on 16.06.1997. Transferred as Chief
Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court on 24.02.2000
